Week Sixteen Fantasy Predictions from Nick and Chad

Nick's Record (55-45 overall) (4-26 in points predictions) = 63 points (6-0 in week fifteen)
Chad's Record (61-39 overall) (4-26 in points predictions) = 69 points
(5-1 in week fifteen)

Winner's Bracket (a.k.a. Playoffs)

What's At Stake: This is what it's all about in fantasy football, PLAYOFFS! After a grueling 13 weeks of fantasy match-ups, a play-in game and a week of playoff match-ups we our down to four teams. Just as a friendly reminder, here's what the four teams are ultimately battling for:

1st Place - $145 + Fantasy Trophy ($15) + Fantasy Championship (priceless)
2nd Place - $80
3rd Place - $25

1.) #5 Team Lowenberg (Nick Lowenberg) (7-6) vs. #1 Team Szmanda (Jason Szmanda) (9-4)

Nick's Outlook: Nick and his Team Lowenberg will look for two upsets in a row as he takes on the top-ranked Team Szmanda. Jason and Team Szmanda proved all the nay-sayers wrong when he put up a respectable 88 points in a win last week. The match-up couldn't be any closer as both participants have six players with double-digit projections. Nick's Ronnie Brown (proj. of 13) has been known to under-perform, but I really like Marshawn Lynch (proj. of 14, pictured above) against a Tampa Bay defense which looks lost against the run. Jason survived with Kerry Collins at the realm last week, but can let out a sigh of relief this week when Aaron Rodgers (proj. of 15) returns in a must-win game versus the Giants. You can also forgot the big zero Vernon Davis (proj. of 11) put up against the Chargers because I see him as an instrumental part of the win over St. Louis. Should be a close match-up and will come down to Monday Night with Lowenberg's Roddy White (proj. of 13) and Szmanda's Lance Moore (proj. of 10). Szmanda enters Monday with a lead and keeps it to advance to the championship.
Nick's Prediction: Team Szmanda

Chad's Prediction: Team Lowenberg

2.) #3 Team McCarthy (Matt McCarthy) (9-4) vs. #2 The Rippin and the Tearin (Rory Linton) (7-6)

Nick's Outlook: If you thought the last match-up was close, this could be the match-up of the year. Team McCarthy is beyond hot as of now (even though he squeaked out a tie-breaking win in week fifteen), I'm not even sure how to explain it. The Rippin and the Tearin knows what I'm talking about because he has Michael Vick (proj. of 25) who just might catapult himself to the fantasy MVP award. McCarthy has an appealing option at QB as well with Tom Brady (proj. of 16); the only issue is whether he will play the entire game against an improved Buffalo squad. After Tim Tebow stole the show from Knowshon Moreno last week, Matt is deciding to take a different route and put the Saints' Chris Ivory (proj. of 7) into a Monday Night Hero role. Rory's game-changer also plays on Monday Night and that's Marques Colston (proj. of 13) who has turned it on as of late and plays a Falcons' defense ranked 27th in the league against the pass. Matt's eight game winning streak comes to an end this week as Rory advances to the championship for the second year in a row.
Nick's Prediction: The Rippin and the Tearin

Chad's Prediction: The Rippin and the Tearin

Winner's Consolation Ladder (a.k.a. Knocked out of the Playoffs)

What's At Stake: Not much accept a $5 baller pot if you can be the team to score the most points!

1.) #6 Team Lee (Isaac Lee) (7-6) vs. #4 Team Breiby (Chad Breiby) (8-5)

Nick's Outlook: Team Lee hasn't shown any signs of depression from his heart-wrenching loss to Team McCarthy in the playoffs as he went on to hit the waiver wire hard. That's a fantasy football player as he will rely on Donald Brown (proj. of 13) who broke out with 18 points last week. Team Breiby can only sit back and wonder what if as Arian Foster (proj. of 26) and Larry Fitzgerald (proj. of 16) have dream match-ups against the 32nd ranked Broncos run defense and Cowboys pass defense. Chad wins and is a player for the baller pot.
Nick's Prediction: Team Breiby

Chad's Prediction: Team Breiby

2.) #9 Team Merrill (Seth Merrill) (6-7) vs. #7 Team Grande (Anthony Grande) (7-6)

Nick's Outlook: Give Seth and Team Merrill a pat on the back as they did all they could to try to take down the top ranked team last week. This week, he will meet Team Grande who was thrown to the side by Rory's baller pot performance. Anthony looks primed to get his dignity back with a league-high eight players projected in double-digits. It all starts with newly acquired Tim Tebow (proj. of 15) who plays a struggling Texans team. Brandon Marshall (proj. of 12) is showing shades of his old self and the Steelers D/ST (proj. of 14) takes on the Carolina Panthers, oh my! Seth's Maurice Jones-Drew (proj. of 16) won't keep up with Anthony's squad this week.
Nick's Prediction: Team Grande

Chad's Prediction: Team Grande

Bye Weeks: #8 Wizard Killer (Joe Selbo)

Consolation Ladder (a.k.a Loser's Bracket)

What's At Stake: For those five teams who didn't make the playoffs, don't give up because there's a valuable prize to be won in the loser's bracket. For the owner and team who can rise above the rest will be awarded with their choice of draft position in next season's fantasy league. That's right, pick #1 overall, last, or somewhere between, it's all up to you! Just remember that this is a ladder and not a bracket, meaning if you lose, there still exists the chance to fight back up the ladder in four total games.

1.) #11 Team Klitzman (Kari Klitzman) (5-8) vs. Team Grays (Nick Grays) (6-7)

Nick's Outlook: For the third time in four weeks, Kari and Team Kitzman take on my team. I won the regular season match-up while Kari took the initial ladder match-up. This one is very important as the winner will play for the draft prize next week. With Felix Jones (proj. of 6) beat up, Kari does not have a lot of favorable match-ups. Dwayne Bowe (proj. of 21) may reach the big projection now that QB Matt Cassell is close to 100%. However, Team Grays has Ray Rice (proj. of 17) who went for an amazing 35 last week and Jamaal Charles (proj. of 18) who is quietly the ninth best fantasy back in all of the NFL. Who else would I pick in this one?
Nick's Prediction: Team Grays

Chad's Prediction: Team Klitzman

2.) #13 Free Victory (Tim Harwood) (5-8) vs. #12 Bobby's Sad-Asses (Robert Trader/John Rymaszewski) (5-8)

Nick's Outlook: The seeds in this match-up may be low, but like the match-up before, it's very important as the winner will play for the draft prize next week. Neither of these guys have a starting quarterback, so I'll take a stab in the dark and take Free Victory in this one.
Nick's Prediction: Free Victory

Chad's Prediction: Free Victory

Bye Weeks: #14 Team Szombatfalvy (Mike Szombatfalvy)

Points Predictions

What's At Stake: Make sure your line-ups are ready to go by gametime because the $5 baller pot is available to any team for the remaining three weeks.
Nick's Prediction: Highest (Team Breiby) and Lowest (Bobby's Sad-Asses)

Chad's Prediction: Highest (The Rippin and the Tearin) and Lowest (Team Lee)
