Trade #3: Barber and Kolb Swap Teams

By: Nick Grays, League Commissioner

I have two exams tomorrow, so let's make this quick. Team Szmanda (Jason Szmanda) pulls the trigger on the trade market by acquiring RB Marion Barber from Team Grande (Anthony Grande) for QB Kevin Kolb. Interesting trade as both players' stocks have fallen tremendously since the draft back in August.

Jason's Perspective: Fresh off a huge win over the previously undefeated Team Breiby, Jason comes into week six with a tricky match-up against Team Szombatfalvy who put up 100+ in week five. His running back situation is a little depleted with Beanie Wells on a bye week and Joseph Addai (proj. of 6) fighting shoulder and neck bruises. Thomas Jones (proj. of 3) is on the decline because of an electric Jamaal Charles while BenJarvus Green-Ellis (proj. of 15) is the lone good-looking back on Team Szmanda. Why add the sputtering Marion Barber (proj. of 1) who looks to be losing his job to Felix Jones. I really don't know!

Anthony's Perspective: Only theory I can put behind this one is some East Troy collusion. Anthony, Jason and Team Grande's opponent (Robert Trader) are all from East Troy. With a beautiful match-up against the Jacksonville Jaguars, I see no reason why Vince Young (proj. of 17) will not start for Team Grande this week. I'm fairly certain Young will start after my weekly fantasy chat/lunch with Anthony. However, I suspect Anthony has some angst regarding Young and his other QB Sam Bradford going forward in the season. If Kevin Kolb can steal the job back from Michael Vick, this could be quite the pick-up.

Advantage: Push as of right now. Seeing that neither option is very good in the long-run and neither player will be utilized this week, I can't see who wins. Both players are worth significantly less than their initial draft position and neither has much upside. On the positive side, they both are great options if Felix Jones runs into an injury or if Michael Vick continues to have problems with the ribs.
